Your Guide to Care at Gennet: Trimester by Trimester

At our clinics, we will guide you through your entire pregnancy. Here is an overview of the key examinations:

1st Trimester
2nd Trimester
3rd Trimestr

1st Trimester

(Weeks 12–14)

Combined First Trimester Screening This is the most critical examination for the early detection of the most common chromosomal abnormalities.

  • FMF Combined Screening: This involves a detailed ultrasound (measuring nuchal translucency – NT and other parameters) combined with biochemical markers from the mother's blood. We use these results to determine the precise risk of genetic defects.

  • First Trimester Fetal Morphology: By the end of the first trimester, the fetus already has all its organs developed. This allows us to detect up to 50% of major developmental defects at this early stage.

  • Preeclampsia Screening: This also includes assessing the risk of developing preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication. If an increased risk is found, effective preventive treatment will be recommended.

  • Non-Invasive PRENASCAN Test: Available as early as week 10. This highly accurate blood test is an excellent choice for maximum certainty or as a supplementary examination.

2nd Trimester

(Weeks 20–22)

Detailed Fetal Morphology Examination You will undergo a detailed ultrasound examination focused on a thorough check of the development of all the baby's organs (heart, brain, kidneys, limbs, etc.). We also assess the position of the placenta and the amount of amniotic fluid. The goal is to rule out congenital developmental defects and genetic syndromes.

3rd Trimestr

(Weeks 30–32)

Monitoring Fetal Growth and Well-being During this period, we primarily monitor the growth of the fetus using ultrasound biometry. We assess the position of the placenta and evaluate its function through flow parameters (Doppler). Furthermore, we check the proper function and development of vital organs, especially the brain, heart, and kidneys. All of this is done to ensure the baby is well-nourished and thriving.

Pricing and Insurance Coverage

Is it covered by health insurance?

Usually, yes.

Basic prenatal care is covered by public health insurance. Certain highly specialized examinations (e.g., NIPT tests, detailed ultrasounds beyond the standard scope) are paid for by the patient. However, many health insurance companies provide generous contributions toward these screenings. For specific information on pricing and payment options, please do not hesitate to contact us or check our price list.
