Our story: From genetics to a leader in reproductive medicine

Gennet Clinic was founded in 1996 as one of the first private centres of medical genetics in the Czech Republic. It was established by the visionary MUDr. David Stejskal, who remains an active member of our expert team to this day, and whose experience is invaluable to us.

From the very beginning, we have placed strong emphasis on expertise and the most advanced technologies. In 2005, we expanded our services to include assisted reproduction, allowing us to fully leverage our extensive experience, where we could fully leverage our deep knowledge of genetics. This combination has proven to be key to our high success rates.
Over time, we also expanded our portfolio to include fetal medicine. Another important milestone came in 2015 with the introduction of clinical immunology, further strengthening the comprehensiveness of care we provide to our patients.

Thanks to continuous development, we have built three modern facilities in Prague and Liberec, which rank among the leading centres of reproductive medicine in Europe.

MUDr. Miloš Černý

Dr. Miloš Černý has been the lead physician of the IVF programme at our clinic since 2018. He graduated from the 2nd Faculty of Medicine at in Prague. He gained his practical experience in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Regional Hospital Kladno and the Motol University Hospital. In 2017 he obtained his certification (attestation) in Gynaecology and Obstetrics; in 2023 he passed his attestation in Reproductive Medicine. Together with his team, he participates in extensive lecture and publication activity in the field of assisted reproduction.

MUDr. Monika Koudová, MBA

Dr. Monika Koudová leads the genetics programme at the GENNET clinic. She holds a specialised competence in Medical Genetics and is one of the leading experts in clinical‑genetic counselling and genetic laboratory methods, with 24 years of practice. She holds a licence from the Czech Medical Chamber (ČLK) to serve as Head Physician and Senior Consultant in this field. She is co‑author of numerous international and domestic publications and presentations. She is a member of the Czech Society of Medical Genetics (ČLS JEP), the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG).

MUDr. Patrik Šimják Ph.D.

Dr. Šimják studied at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, and obtained certifications in Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Perinatology, and Fetal Medicine. He is involved in multiple research projects, regularly publishes in prestigious international journals, and lectures at national and international conferences. He gained experience at the Department of Obstetrics–Gynaecology at the Prague University Hospital (VFN) and on internships in clinics in Italy and Poland. He also contributes to educating future physicians and midwives at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University.

MUDr. Lenka Sedláčková

She obtained her specialist certification in allergology and clinical immunology in 2004. Until 2020, she worked at Na Homolce Hospital as Head Physician of the Immunology Laboratory within the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Immunology, and as a physician at the outpatient clinic of the Centre for Allergology and Clinical Immunology. Her work also included consultations in allergology and clinical immunology for inpatient departments of the hospital. She introduced and developed comprehensive diagnostics of drug allergies using laboratory, skin and provocation tests. She is a member of the committee of the Czech Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the Czech Medical Association of Jan Evangelista Purkyně. Since 2013, she has led the ČSAKI Working Group for Drug Allergies. She is also a member of the committee of the ČSAKI Section of Laboratory Immunology, as well as a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the European Network on Drug Allergy, ENDA, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

MUDr. Viktor Vik, Ph.D.

MUDr. Viktor Vik, Ph.D. is one of the leading specialists in urology and andrology in the Czech Republic. His main specialisation in urology is reconstructive surgery of the urethra and uro-oncology. MUDr. Viktor Vik spent part of his professional career at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology in London. During his professional stay in the United Kingdom, he focused mainly on reconstructive surgery and andrology. Since 2006, he has been Head of the Andrology Outpatient Clinic at Gennet, and since 2016 Head of the Uro-Andrology Outpatient Clinic at Gennet. MUDr. Vik is the author and co-author of numerous publications and presentations. He is a member of the Czech Urological Society and the J. E. Purkyně Society, and holds licences from the Czech Medical Chamber and the GMC UK in the field of urology.

MUDr. Karin Černá

Dr. Karin Černá has worked at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology department at GENNET since 2015. She graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague in 1992. After graduation she joined the Immunology Unit of the Institute of Pulmonary Diseases in Prague–Bulovka, and after two years moved to the General University Hospital Prague (VFN). As a secondary doctor, she also worked at the 1st Internal Clinic of VFN and 1st Faculty of Medicine; she later worked as a specialist physician in the Institute of Immunology and Microbiology of VFN and 1st Faculty of Medicine. From 2013‑2017 she served as Head of the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Allergology at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Diagnostics of VFN and 1st Faculty of Medicine UK. From 2017 she also worked as a clinical immunologist at the Iscare Clinical Centre. She passed her first attestation in Internal Medicine in 1995, and her second specialised attestation in Allergology and Clinical Immunology in 2001. She is author and co‑author of more than 100 lectures and publications, co‑author of 7 monographs, and has participated in numerous grant projects. She is a member of the Czech Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (ČLS JEP).

Mudr. Veronika Sabolová

MUDr. Veronika Sabolová graduated from the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. During her studies, she actively focused on gynaecology and obstetrics, gaining her first practical experience through clinical obstetric practice.

After completing her studies, she worked at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Příbram, where she obtained her board certification in gynaecology and obstetrics in 2016. Since 2015, she has also been working in fetal medicine at the Profema Fetal Medicine Centre.

Since 2017, she has been part of the Gennet team in the Department of Medical Genetics, where she continues her specialization and is currently preparing for her board certification in medical genetics. In her practice, she combines her expertise in gynaecology, obstetrics, and genetics, with a particular focus on prenatal diagnostics and genetic counselling during pregnancy.

MUDr. Tomáš Slisz

MUDr. Tomáš Slisz graduated from the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. He then worked as a physician at the Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the Department of Pneumology of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and Thomayer University Hospital in Prague. During his practice, he obtained his specialist certification in Allergology and Clinical Immunology in 2022. He regularly publishes scientific articles in prestigious Czech and international medical journals and lectures at national and international congresses. He also participates in the education of future physicians at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. MUDr. Slisz is a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, EAACI, and the Czech Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology. He has been a member of the Gennet clinic team since 2023.

MUDr. Lucie Hoftová

Dr. Lucie Hoftová graduated in General Medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. She obtained her internal medicine practice at Mělník Hospital and completed her internal medicine training. Since 2023 she has devoted herself intensively to the field of Allergology and Clinical Immunology. She works at the GENNET clinic under the supervision of Dr. Lenka Sedláčková and is preparing for her attestation exam.

MUDr. Jana Emlerová

MUDr. Jana Emlerová has been a physician at the Allergology and Clinical Immunology outpatient clinic of Gennet since 2023. She graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague in the field of General Medicine. She passed her specialist certification examination in Allergology and Clinical Immunology in 2019.

She began her practice at the Department of Neurology of Na Bulovce Hospital, later worked at the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine of the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady, and also gained experience in the private practice of MUDr. Přemysl Rákosník, specialising in allergology, immunology, pneumology and internal medicine.

She completed a one year course in medical English at the University of Sussex. In 2026, she received the Professor Václav Špičák Award for the best case report in the journal Alergie. In 2026, she also completed her MHA studies in Healthcare Management.

Dr. Dagmar Smetanová, CSc., has been with the company since 2004. She graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, and in 2001 was awarded the scientific degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. Since 2003 she holds the licence of the Czech Medical Chamber (ČLK) to serve in the capacity of Head Physician and Senior Consultant in the field of Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Paediatric Gynaecology. She contributes to numerous domestic and international publications and presentations.

MUDr. Dita Kilijánová

MUDr. Dita Kilijánová is a physician in the Fetal Medicine Department at our Gennet clinic, where she has been working since 2011. She graduated from the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. She obtained her first degree specialist certification in Gynaecology and Obstetrics.

She gained her experience, for example, as a resident physician at hospitals in Vlašim and Beroun and at Motol University Hospital, as well as at ProFemme as a gynaecologist and obstetrician. In 2013, she obtained a certificate for super specialist ultrasound examinations. She actively participates in international conferences and regularly lectures at gynaecological conferences in the Czech Republic.

MUDr. Iva Mačátová

After graduating in 2014, she joined the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Apolinář as a physician, where she gradually became part of the team of the Centre for Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound Diagnostics and the team of the Centre for Assisted Reproduction.

In addition to pregnancy screening examinations, she also specialises in expert ultrasound diagnostics focused on endometriosis. She has been working in fetal medicine and ultrasound diagnostics at Gennet since 2025.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family in nature and doing various sports activities.

MUDr. Ivana Tutková Svobodová

MUDr. Ivana Tutková Svobodová works as a fetal medicine physician at Gennet and also provides outpatient gynaecological care. She specialises in prenatal diagnostics and ultrasound screening of congenital developmental anomalies.

She studied General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava and later obtained her specialist certification in Gynaecology and Obstetrics.

During her professional career, she has gained experience at specialised workplaces focused on gynaecology, obstetrics and fetal medicine.

She holds a certificate from ČGPS ČLS JEP for performing super specialist ultrasound examinations, as well as international certificates from the Fetal Medicine Foundation for screening congenital anomalies in the 1st and 2nd trimester.

MUDr. Kateřina Rožníčková graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague.

She gained her previous experience at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the General University Hospital in Prague and at the Gynecology Department of Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem.

She passed the board certification in Gynecology and Obstetrics and a subspecialty certification in Reproductive Medicine.

She has been working at our Gennet Letná clinic for more than 11 years, where she holds the position of Deputy Head of the IVF Department.

MUDr. Gabriela Stránská

MUDr. Gabriela Stránská graduated from the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague in the General Medicine programme. In 2011, she obtained the European specialist certification in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. She gained her previous experience as a physician at Motol University Hospital and at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady. In 2023, she successfully passed the specialist certification examination in the follow up field of Reproductive Medicine.

MUDr. Martina Šepelová

MUDr. Martina Šepelová has been working at the Gennet clinic since 2024. After graduating from the Second Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague, she gained over one year of experience in the field at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Regensburg. After returning to Prague, she continued her practice at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the General University Hospital in Prague, “U Apolináře”, where she focused on prenatal care, prenatal ultrasound diagnostics, and was part of a specialized clinic providing care for pregnant patients with diabetes. She holds full FMF certification for performing prenatal ultrasound examinations and is a co-author of the publication Idiopathic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases – New Trends and Interdisciplinary Connections.

She passed the board certification in Gynecology and Obstetrics in December 2025.
