Supporting Embryo Implantation

Embryo implantation into the uterine lining is a crucial moment on the IVF journey. Even a high-quality embryo needs the right environment to successfully implant and begin development.

At Gennet, we offer advanced methods – EmbryoGlue, Assisted Hatching, and ZONA FREE – to significantly increase your chances of successful implantation.

EmbryoGlue: Special Medium for Higher Implantation Rates

EmbryoGlue is a culture medium enriched with hyaluronan – a naturally occurring substance in the body that enhances embryo adhesion to the endometrium. Its high concentration helps mimic the physiological conditions of the uterus, promoting better implantation.

Benefits of EmbryoGlue:

  • Increases the likelihood of pregnancy

  • Natural composition mimics uterine environment

  • Safe for all embryos during embryo transfer

Assisted Hatching

A human embryo is surrounded by a protective shell called the zona pellucida. This shell must naturally break open after fertilisation for implantation to occur. If the embryo fails to hatch, it cannot implant.

Assisted hatching uses a precise laser to create a small gap in the zona pellucida, helping the embryo emerge and increasing its chances of implantation.

When do we recommend Assisted Hatching?

  • After repeated failed embryo transfers
  • For frozen embryos
  • Prior to preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)
  • When a thickened zona pellucida is detected

Benefits of Assisted Hatching:

  • Safe and accurate laser-assisted procedure
  • Suitable for older patients or embryos of lower quality

ZONA FREE: For Women with Immune Sensitivities

ZONA FREE is a technique in which the zona pellucida is completely removed. It is especially helpful for women with anti-zona pellucida antibodies (AZP), which can interfere with embryo implantation.

Even if AZP tests come back negative, low levels of these antibodies may still exist and impair implantation. By removing the shell, the embryo becomes invisible to harmful immune responses.

When do we recommend ZONA FREE?

  • When AZP antibodies are confirmed
  • Based on a doctor or embryologist's recommendation

Benefits of ZONA FREE:

  • Protects the embryo from immune attack
  • Ideal for immunologically sensitive patients
