What is Egg Donation IVF and to whom Is It intended?

IVF with donated eggs is a treatment method where the healthy eggs from an anonymous donor are fertilized in a laboratory with the partner's sperm (donor sperm can also be used). As a result the embryo is then transferred to the patient's uterus, allowing her to experience pregnancy and childbirth.

This method offers hope and an effective solution for women who:

  • Have a low supply or low quality of her own eggs (often due to older age, ovarian surgery, conditions after chemotherapy/radiotherapy, etc.)
  • Suffer from premature ovarian failure or lack ovaries
  • Have had repeated failed IVF cycles with their own eggs
  • Carry a genetic disorder they do not wish to pass on (It is not possible to perform effective genetic testing of embryos)
  • Have severe endometriosis

Why to Choose Genent Our Donors and Unique Guarantee

The success of egg donation IVF depends on two key pillars: the quality of donor eggs and the expertise of the laboratory. We set the highest standards in both areas.

Carefully Selected and  Screened Donors

Our donor database is one of the most extensive in the Czech Republic. Egg donation is strictly anonymous by law. Our donors are young, healthy women (ages 18–34) who undergo the rigorous screening:
  • Comprehensive medical and gynecological evaluations

  • Testing for infectious and sexually transmitted diseases (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis)

  • Genetic consultation and full genetic screening (karyotyping, CF, SMA, and more)

This thorough process protects your health and your future child's well-being.

Our Unique Success Guarantee

We are one of the few clinics that offer you assurance, that we care. Our program guarantees that you will obtain at least two high-quality embryos in the blastocyst stage that are suitable for transfer. If we do not meet this condition (in order to fulfill the guarantee, the quality of the sperm must not be significantly reduced), you will receive another, so-called asynchronous cycle – free of charge. This can significantly increase your cumulative chance of success.

Pregnancy Test

Initial Consultation and Planning

Meeting with a doctor (online or in person) to review your case and receive a personalized treatment plan. Initial tests (semen analysis, blood work) are scheduled.

Donor Selection and Synchronization

Our team selects the most suitable donor from the database based on blood type compatibility and phenotype (appearance). Treatment can be carried out using either fresh or vitrified donated oocytes. In the case of a fresh cycle, the doctor uses medication to synchronize your cycle with the donor’s cycle. If you prefer not to undergo synchronization for any reason, it is not required and a cryotransfer can be scheduled instead.

Endometrial Preparation

While the donor undergoes ovarian stimulation, you will take medication to prepare your endometrium for embryo transfer. Ultrasound monitoring ensures optimal growth.

Egg Retrieval and Fertilization

On the day of the donor's egg retrieval, your partner provides a semen sample (donated sperm may also be used). Our embryologists immediately fertilize the eggs using ICSI and other advanced techniques.

Embryo Culture and Selection

Embryos are cultivated for 5–6 days (extended cultivation). The best-quality embryo with the highest potential is selected for transfer.

Embryo Transfer

A quick, painless, anesthesia-free procedure to transfer the embryo into your uterus, only under ultrasound guidance.

Pregnancy Test

About 14 days after the transfer, a blood test checks your hCG levels to confirm pregnancy.
